Abstract :《Technical specification for fiber reinforced concrete structures》(CECS38:2004) has been publicized and replaced the old specification (CECS38:92). In the new specifications, content of design and construction on synthetic fiber reinforced concrete is added, the round straight steel fiber of low strength and the melt extracted steel fiber with lower containing of carbon are eliminated, high strength fiber cut from steel wire, specially shaped fiber milled from steel ingot or sheared from steel sheet and melt extracted steel fiber with low alloy are recommended. The strength grade of fiber reinforced concrete is extended from 40 MPa to 80MPa, To take into account the effects of steel fibers on different strength concrete, different effecting factors are given to estimate performances of the concrete with different strength grade and each computation of elements made of the fiber reinforced concrete. Te toughness of fiber reinforced concrete is induced into the design of tunnel liner and industrial floor. The addition contents are roof slab, pile cap, corbel, deep beam, pavement of dock and bridge, bridge structures, structures of hydraulic engineering, layered composite pavement, and so on.
